R.E.S.P.E.C.T We all want it. We all should give it.

I attended the Geekwire Summit again this year and walked away feeling motivated and proud to be part of such a successful and collaborative technology industry.  I observed a commonality of respect in the speakers and content.  Watching Brad Smith, President, Microsoft and Jay Carney, SVP, Global Corporate Affairs, Amazon speak about the need to collaborate as tech leaders, competitors and keepers of data. Retired Steve Ballmer is an amazing speaker to watch and validated my career in his opening talk about RECRUITING!  Since leaving Microsoft, Steve Ballmer is co-founder of Ballmer Group, founder of USAFacts, and chairman of the Los Angeles Clippers NBA basketball team.  He spoke about recruiting efforts (for the Clippers) and the amount of work that goes into it.  He admitted not knowing how much effort and talent that goes into recruiting and what must have gone into finding talent in his tenure at Microsoft.  He has RESPECT for RECRUITING!  These thoughts lead me to an article about RESPECT and the need to give it, in order to receive it.  A good reminder for us all in our everyday lives at home and work.
